American Camellia Yearbook, 1977, p.215, Reg. No.1435: A very large, deep red to red, semi-double. An 8 year old chance seedling C.japonica that first bloomed 1972. OrigiĀ­nated in USA by Neal Rogers of Belle Fontaine Nursery, Theodore, Alabama. Plant habit is upright, open and rapid in rate with medium dark green leaves, 10 cm x 5 cm. The flower has 20-25 petals, bright yellow anthers and pink filaments. Average size, 15 cm across x 7.5 cm deep. Petals well creped at edges. Blooms early to mid-season.
