American Camellia Yearbook, 1977, p.215, Reg. No.1435: A very large,
deep red to red, semi-double. An 8 year old chance seedling C.japonica
that first bloomed 1972. OrigiĀnated in USA by Neal Rogers of Belle
Fontaine Nursery, Theodore, Alabama. Plant habit is upright, open and
rapid in rate with medium dark green leaves, 10 cm x 5 cm. The flower
has 20-25 petals, bright yellow anthers and pink filaments. Average
size, 15 cm across x 7.5 cm deep. Petals well creped at edges. Blooms
early to mid-season.
