Rebel Yell Red

 

American Camellia Yearbook, 1961, pp.229, 230, Reg. No.534: A 7 year old chance seedling that first bloomed 1953, originated by Wheeler’s Central Georgia Nurseries, Macon, Georgia, USA. Plant growth is upright and medium with dark green leaves 10 cm x 5cm. The white, semi-double flowers have a large number of red specks and stripes, giving a moired effect. Petals and petaloids are crepey, twisted and curled. Flowers are 13 cm across x 6 cm deep with 20 petals and 5 petaloids. See colour photo, front cover, ACS., 1961, The Camellia Journal, vol.16.
